WUSC in Asia
WUSC is currently active in four countries in South and Southeast Asia: Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal and Vietnam. View the map. As one of the largest Canadian development NGOs in Sri Lanka, we are active throughout the country with an emphasis on delivering vocational training in conflict and tsunami-affected areas as well as reducing poverty and social exclusion in plantation communities. In Afghanistan, WUSC is using its vocational training expertise to help women widowed by decades-long conflict acquire employable skills and enter non-traditional jobs. Through our Uniterra volunteer cooperation program, we are present in Nepal as well as Vietnam. Uniterra is a joint initiative of WUSC and the Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI). |
