WUSC in Botswana
Active in Botswana since 1980, WUSC has established strong partnerships with government ministries, civil society organizations, and individuals. We have a solid understanding of the complexities of working in the country.
Current Programs Our work in Botswana is focused in the following sectors: - education and health - including higher education and HIV and AIDS
- sustainable livelihoods - including private sector development and vocational training
- governance - including strengthening civil society.
Botswana Student Program: On behalf of the Ministries of Education and Local Government Service Management we manage a major scholarship program for students selected to study at Canadian universities and colleges. This program is part of WUSC's International Student Management service. Uniterra: Our volunteer cooperation program places Canadian and southern volunteers with local partner organizations working in HIV/AIDS as well as private sector development. Uniterra is a joint initiative of WUSC and the Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI).
