Bicycles, especially if outfitted with a stretcher, can help those living with HIV and AIDS in Malawi. Fundraise (bicycle - $200 or bicycle ambulances -$380) and raise awareness about the HIV and AIDS epidemic and Millennium Development Goal #6. |

In sub-Saharan Africa, smallholder farmers and Farm Radio International are working hard to end hunger. Climate change is a real threat to African farming families' ability to grow more food and improve their lives. They need information on practical, low cost and sustainable solutions. Radio is an affordable and accessible way to share the voices, the wisdom, and the concerns of farmers on the front line of food security. Raise funds to equip our African broadcast partners with MP3 recorders and allow farmers' voices to be heard. |

Education is a powerful tool and without it few of us would reach our full potential. In refugee camps, girls rarely have the opportunity to pursue their education beyond primary school and without education these young people have no way out. Help WUSC to ‘Shine A Light' on what girls can achieve if they overcome the challenges they face in accessing education in the refugee camps. |

Students Without Borders (SWB) is a WUSC program that offers practical work opportunities in Africa, Asia and South America to students and recent graduates from Canadian universities and colleges during an academic term or upon graduation. Through this experience, SWB volunteers gain skills that are valued in the workplace while supporting the work of local partner organizations.

 | 2010 International Seminar in Nepal
Next summer twenty post-secondary students from various regions across Canada will be joining twenty Nepalese students for the 63rd International Seminar in Nepal. This unforgettable learning opportunity builds bridges to a more equitable world and empowers participants to become development advocates on campuses and beyond. Engaging people on development issues on campus and beyond before and after the Seminar is key in reaching the Millennium Development Goals by 2015. The 2010 International Seminar in Nepal will focus on "Sustainable forests and livelihoods" and will take place from May 24th to July 2nd, 2009. |

Through WUSC's Student Refugee Program (SRP), Local Committees across Canada sponsor over 65 student refugees to Canada every year, enabling them to enter the country as permanent residents and pursue their education at Canadian universities and colleges. Get involved with the SRP and learn first-hand about refugee and resettlement issues. |
